We all know that exercise and keeping active has many benefits for our health and wellbeing. A regular steady exercise routine can help you build stronger muscles, prevent chronic illness, manage your weight and help you look and feel much better. Regular exercise is vital for our health; for our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Here Are Some Of The Mental Health Benefits Of Exercise:

Regular exercise can help you have a healthy mind.

Exercise clears your head and lifts your mood – because exercise stimulates positive Endorphins – the feel good hormones.

Exercise is clinically proven to stimulate serotonin – your natural feel-good neurotransmitter.

✔ Research from the Department of Health, reported that 12% of cases of depression could be prevented with an hour of exercise a week.

Increasing your workouts to 3 a week and you could reduce your risk of depression by 30%.

Keeping active is one of the best things you can do to help yourself bounce back in times of adversity.

Doing intense exercise will completely absorb your attention – it’s impossible to think of anything else but what your body is doing.

After exercise take a moment to notice how your mood has lifted. You’ll get hooked on the feel-good benefits of exercise, not just the physical results!

I believe that in the future we will see more and more people being prescribed exercise as a mood-booster. Ultimately, the key is to find a workout that you enjoy, because then you will want to keep doing it - with consistency comes great results!

It's never too late to start exercising. Keep moving!
