CONFRONT YOUR FEAR

We can all lack confidence due to feeling fear. This is a natural human initiate emotion. Fear is in built in all human beings and is very powerful emotion, which is crucial for survival. However, fear it can be something that we can't control. The feeling of fear can be strong and stop us from achieving greatness and full potential.

We often lack confidence when the surge of fear takes over us. Fear can take over us when we find ourselves in uncomfortable situations - usually things that we view as the 'unknown' or challenging. Often, fear creeps in when we find ourselves in situations and scenarios which are out of our comfort zone. An example of this is public speaking. Many people fear speaking in public - or on stage.

One way of getting over fear and feeling more confident is to confront our fears. Practice and being prepared can help towards building confidence. Don't let your fears control what you do, who you are and what you become.

OWN YOUR STRENGTHS

The human brain is naturally programmed to hold onto negativity. Often, we will focus on what we consider to be our flaws or negative traits rather than focus on all that is positive about us. Start focussing on your strengths, your talents and achievements. Remind yourself daily of all your good points. If you're unsure what they are ask those closest to you what they consider to be your strengths and good points.

SET GOALS

Set yourself short, medium and long term goals. Write these goals down and put them somewhere you can see them every day. Spend time to reflect on all the goals you accomplish and how far you have come. This will help to boost and increase your self-confidence and self-esteem.

HELP SOMEONE

Volunteering, donating or helping someone will help you feel good. When we help someone else, especially those in greater need it gives us a sense of purpose. This can also help to boost your self-worth and confidence.

RECOGNISE YOUR WEAKNESSES

As mentioned above it is important to recognise your strengths. It is also important to recognise your weaknesses. Understand that in most cases it is difficult to change some of your weaknesses. Shift your thoughts and focus your energy on your strengths.Remind yourself that even the most successful people in the world have weakness and can have issues with confidence.

STOP COMPARING

STOP comparing yourself to others, for example the people and images you see online. Comparing yourself to others , their lifestyle , the way they look or the things they have will not do much for your confidence. Remind yourself that everyone is unique, and we can all reach our own success.

"Comparison is the thief of joy"

LOOK CONFIDENT

This is something that you can put into action straight away. It may sound like people are shallow but human beings are programmed to take notice of people's physical - outward appearance.

When we meet someone, especially for the first time we often look at their physical attributes first and make assumptions based on first appearances. If you want to improve your confidence, I highly recommend you 'look confident'.

Have a look at your appearance, and if need be 'modifying' your appearance. By this i mean look at the way to dress, how you carry yourself, your posture and body language. Just by making a few changes you will be surprised how this can help to improve your self-confidence and make you feel UNSTOPPABLE!
